Manufacturers will produce over 25,340 new turboshaft engines to power rotorcraft during the period 2021-2030. This total includes engines built for both the military and commercial rotorcraft markets. The value of this production will reach almost $25 billion in 2021 dollars. Production of turboshaft engines for the civil market is forecast to increase in 2021. The industry suffered a major downturn in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we believe the commercial market will begin to recover in 2021 off a very low base, with turboshaft production exceeding 1,000 units in 2022.
