"The new Strategic Plan for the period 2008 -2011 has strong elements of continuity with the previous Plan in terms of Strategic Themes but also some important changes of emphasis, particularly the focus on climate change. Within the new Strategic Themes, there has been a review of the coverage of the previous technical committees that has resulted in some committees being retained and the introduction of new technical committees that bring in new areas for study.
