Many regions and countries are characterized by a significant variance in generation and consumption of electricity schedules during the day. In particular, this is typical for countries with a large proportion of energy generated by nuclear power-France (70%), Ukraine (50%), and others. In such countries, there is a surplus of energy at night and a deficit thereof during the day. Hydroelectric pumped storage power plants (HPSPP) are used to store the energy. They have high costs, a long time of construction and commissioning, and a low efficiency and they have a negative effect on the environment. To encourage consumers to equalize their power consumption schedules, three-zone tariffs are introduced with a fourfold difference in cost. The increasing mass production of storage batteries is creating prerequisites for a revolution not only in motor transport, but also in electric drive technology and the electric power industry. This article shows that, if the storage batteries built into electric drives work around the clock to charge the batteries at night and in the hours of maximum consumption to supply electric motors with energy from them, the costs of electric power are reduced by 1.5 times. Calculations carried out for modernization of Ukrainian gas transport system using the electric energy storage batteries show that the prime cost of the gas transporting can be reduced by 20%. Moreover, when using "green" tariffs for energy accumulated at night, it will be possible for business, and even for individuals, to invest funds in the purchase of such systems, while for the government it is a solution of a serious problem without spending money from the budget.
