Welcome to the first 2008 edition of Safety and EMC, bringing you news on amendments to the ATEX standards as well as recent changes to the Australian RF Human Exposure Standard. In other news, the European Commission has announced that it will be starting proceedings against eight Member States over their inadequate transposition of the WEEE and RoHS Directives.Those being warned are Estonia (WEEE), Latvia (WEEE), Lithuania (WEEE and RoHS), Belgium (RoHS), Denmark (RoHS), Malta (RoHS), Finland (RoHS) and Sweden (RoHS) have failed to transpose the RoHS Directive correctly.
