He began by thanking IOSH for its work and efforts in promoting the legislation.rnLord McKenzie of Luton, the minister with responsibility for health and safety at the Department for Work and Pensions, gave arnshort speech, during which he commented on the great value the new Act will have in protecting people, and its link with Dame Carol Black's Review.rnJames Clappison MP, the Conservative shadow minister for work and pensions, said he felt it was correct that sentencing for flouting health and safety regulations should be increased, and that the Government and Opposition should work together to preventrnavoidable death and injury.
