All of CMA CGM's e-commerce services sites were made live and operational, two weeks after a malware attack hit the company on 28 September 2020. CMA CGM shut down the external access to its network after discovering the security breach, as a precaution to stop the malicious software from spreading into its systems. The company has now fully reconnected its worldwide agency network, and all agencies and back-offices are operational, according to a CMA CGM email update sent on 11 October. "All communications to and from the CMA CGM Group are secure, including emails, transmitted files and electronic data interchanges," said the CMA CGM representative. They also confirmed that all applications and essential functions are up and running, including bookings, tracking, route finders, and invoicing.
