Fairness in the Workplace: The Mediating Role of Trust in the Relationship Between Supervisory Justice and Work Outcomes

摘要

Extant justice research is now focusing on other sources of justice within the organization (e.g., supervisor). Although this new stream of research is in its infancy, it offers great promise for future research endeavors. The present study is one of a few to explicitly examine trust as a dichotomous variable from a social exchange perspective. The findings illustrate how trust is critical in helping us better understand the relationship between supervisory justice and various work outcomes. Although the present findings add salient contributions to justice literature and have vital implications, the study has some limitations that were noted. Future research needs to examine these shortcomings to advance justice theory and literature.
