IT WAS a nice surprise to see the new F-105D model released by Trumpeter recently. The model is of a high quality, typical for recent Trumpeter products, and a reasonable price.rnIn addition to the kit parts, I used the Pavla cockpit set, and a pair of Eduard etched detail sets. I started my work on F-105D with the cleaning all of the Pavla resin parts and I chose not to use the kit instrument panel as the self adhesive version included in the Eduard set is far superior. The Pavla seat is an excellent rendition in 72nd scale, and after the addition of some wiring, and careful painting it is ready for installation.rnEach of the completed cockpit elements were then glued to the starboard fuselage half, while the jet exhaust tube must be finished and glued in place before joining thernhalves together.
