I love the Corsair, in fact it is my lottery Warbird (the one I would buy if it was me who actually won). I had always fancied doing a Corsair with the red outlines to the national markings so I purchased Trumpeter's F4U-ID as this made the conversion to the IA fairly simple.rnMy absolute favourite aspect of modelling is weathering and the Corsair is an ideal subject to go to town on. Given the fact that they saw action in the rugged and hotly contested Pacific campaign, they were generally in a pretty messy state most of the time. After thoroughly examining the kit there were some problem points quickly identified as needing some modification in one form or another. There are some nigh on impossible to remove pin marks in the wheel bay so I went out and bought the Aires setrn(more of these later).
