Donald W. Capone II, PhD, elected to trial his latest research on natural metal finishes on the Revell/Monogram F-101B. At the same time, he converted the kit to a single-seat F-101C. I have had the Revell/Monogram 1:48 scale F-101B sitting on my shelf for several years just waiting for me to grow a sufficiently robust spine to tackle the natural metal finish (NMF) it would inevitably take to do the project justice. A few months ago I received the F-101A/C resin conversion set from C&H and was now committed to building my first serious attempt at an NMF project with the added difficulty of a resin conversion kit. This project is the kind that really does make you feel like a modeller when complete, as opposed to an assembler.
