In a special issue of the journal Nature, (May 14, 2015, vol. 521) there are reports on the status of scientific research activities in India and the problems impeding research of good quality, which is very timely and the maladies mentioned need serious consideration. Some extracts from those reports, given below,: may be worth noting: "India making great strides in improving its science, but it needs to look carefully at its approach......to realize its full potential."
