The 21st century has brought with it major advances in science and technology, mostly through reasoning, systemic study, creation of new knowledge, developing applications to solve day to day problems. However, a large section of our population is yet to learn, utilize and reap its benefit for solving everyday problems. A number of social reformers, scholars and scientists advocated the need to instill a sprit of scientific enquiry in the society. While the foundations of modern India were based on the vision of propagating science in the country, we still have much to do to inspire scientific temper. The present paper attempts to analyse the potential of science centres across the country for percolating scientific temper.
