Indian nuclear program is based on the closed fuel cycle for efficient utilization of the nuclear resources. This paper highlights the Indian experience in the mining, ore processing, design and fabrication, fuel performance, post irradiation examination and fuel reprocessing. Latest developments in the pyrochemical reprocessing and Research and Developmental activities on various aspects of nuclear fuel cycle are also discussed in this manuscript.
