Vaccination is meant for providing immunological protection against some diseases. Vaccination is usually given in advance so that the immune system gets at least some minimum time to develop immunity against the disease-causing organisms (bacteria, virus) for the prevention of which vaccines have been inoculated. Vaccination may not be effective if given in immunologically depressed or compromised individuals, such as the elderly, pregnant women, people who live in poverty stricken conditions; so might be immunosuppressed. Live vaccines sometimes could be more dangerous in this type of immuno-suppressed individuals.
