'Can stars find peace?' is the second in the series of monographs under the title "The Present Revolution in Astronomy" conveying the excitement of contemporary astronomy not only to young readers and students but to anyone who is interested in astronomy. This volume starts where the first volume 'What are the stars?" ends. The star evolves peacefully over millions of years and passes through various stages of development till it runs out of nuclear fuel and collapses under its own weight. Everything happens in a very short time with a prodigious explosion known as a supernova. This volume essentially presents the life history of the stars and demonstrates how our perception and understanding of stellar phenomena obtained from classical mechanics changes drastically when quantum physics is applied.
