摘要

The Agenda of the Apprentice Scientist by Nicole Ostrowsky, with illustrations by Theresa Bronn, has been translated from French to English by Radhika Viswanathan in collaboration with Gillian Rosner. The foreword to the original French edition was written by Georges Charpak, the winner of 1992 Noble Prize in Physics, where he talked about awakening of curiosity of youngsters through hands on experiment. The foreword to the English edition is written by C.N.R. Rao, the Linus Pauling Research Professor of Jawaharlal Nehru University who hopes that the book will provide immense benefit to the young reader. It shows 365 experiments with 365 delightful quotes for each day of the year. Some of these quotes provide food for thought for both children and adults. The innumerable Chinese proverbs require special mention.
