摘要

Eclipta alba (Linn.) Hassk. (Bhringaraj) is the member of family Asteraceae and is a small erect or prostrate much branched, hairy annual herb. The plant is commonly used as component of hair oil for healthy and black hairs. It is also antimyotoxic and antihaemorrhagic in nature. Dry plant is used in viral hepatitis, asthma, memory disorders, minor cuts & burns, eye disease and plant juice in catarrhal jaundice. Phyllanthus fraternus Webster (Syn.: P. niruri; Family: Euphorbiaceae) is a well-known folklore medicinal plant, recognized in standard literature in Ayurvedic and other indigenous system of medicine in our country. The plant gained importance after discovery of anti-AIDS compounds, i.e. phyllanthosides. It is used as a remedy for dropsical disorders, gonorrhoea and other genitourinary diseases. The whole plant is used to treat liver disorders particularly due to Hepatitis-B and jaundice,rnintestinal infection, diabetes, etc., Looking into the various uses, the present studies were aimed to know the effects of different treatments such as soil mixture ratios and sowing depths on growth performance of these two important medicinal plants of the Indian arid zone.
