National Conference On Biosciences In Innovative Healthcare

摘要

Life sciences are now entering a revolutionary period. Major trends in science, society and economic forces are ushering in an era of exceptionally rapid change in the way biomedical activities are conceived and performed. The rapidly escalating cost of health care, persistence of health disparities, aging of the population and new public health challenges, such as obesity, diabetes and emerging infectious diseases, call for the aceleration of our efforts aimed at understanding the complexity of biological systems and increase the need for more effective strategies for pursuing translational and clinical sciences. The reclassification of diseases, based on specific molecular signatures is likely to be one of the most original contributions to clinical sciences in the 21st century. Keeping these things in mind, Department of Biosciences of Sri Sathya Sai University (SSU) like previous years organized this national conference on 'Biosciences in Innovative Healthcare' during March 3-4, 2008 at its Vidya Giri Complex, Prashanti Nilayam, Andhra Pradesh under the support of UGC SAP DRS and DST FIST.
