Animal forensics is an emerging issue and in crimes involving a specific animal the non-human evidence is beginning to find a place in the prosecution of individuals. Identification of animal parts/products also becomes imperative in cases related to adulteration of meat, illegal wildlife poaching and trade of animal parts. Blood, skin, hair, flesh, teeth, horn, skull, bones, tail, nails, feathers are the common biological specimens received for examination in animal forensics. The analysis involves different techniques of microscopy, serology, biochemistry and molecular biology.
