摘要

Trichoderma viride was isolated from Prasanthinilayam soils then it was grown in shake flask culture and also in baby fermenter then the T. viride mycelium was obtained. Then the mycelium was immobilized using sodium alginate. The immobilized beads of Trichoderma viride was tested for its cellulase activity. Benedict's test was carried for reducing sugar. The immobilized beads of Trichoderma produced cellulase enzyme and acted upon the Whatman no.1 filter paper suspension there by releasing the reducing sugars. This is only a qualitative test for detecting the glucose released from the filter paper because of the cellulase enzyme activity from the immobilized beads of Trichoderma.
