摘要

The human desire to fly in air and conquer the skies has been age-old. To the earthbound humans, flying birds symbolize speed, beauty, grace, freedom, tranquility and much more. Therefore, it is no surprise that all early imagery of flying, and also the attempts to fly, were based on mimicking birds. For a variety of reasons, however, all attempts to use the artificial wings to fly like a bird could never become a reality, although the idea appealed to many since ancient times.
