Progress of our society is dependent on the development of science and technology. The need for greater understanding of science by the society is therefore essential. The Science Movement in Bengal has tried to accomplish this job in three-fold ways. The first agenda of the Science Movement is popularisation of science through the vernacular. Another thrust area of this movement is to make a science and technology plan for the people and implement that plan for popular welfare. The Science Movement also want to develop a scientific temper and rational thinking among the masses.
