Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na dodatnie, statystycznie istotne zależności między masą ciała knurów a parametrami charakteryzującymi wielkość ich jąder w 70., 120., 150. i 180. dniu życia. Stwierdzono również dodatnie zależności między długością i objętością obu jąder knurów.%A total of 1534 line 990 and 339 Duroc boars bred at the Centre for Pig Hybridization in Pawlowice were examined. In situ measurements of length and width of both testes were made on boars aged 70, 120, 150 and 180 days. Volumes of the right and left testes as well as the total testicular volume were calculated. Body weight of each boar was determined during each measurement. The results obtained show a highly significant positive correlation between boar body weight and testicular size parameters in each age group of both line 990 and Duroc. Positive correlations were also shown between the length, width and volume of both testes. Volume of both testes produced the highest coefficients (r values ranging from 0.90 to 0.93) in correlation with the left testis width. A bilateral asymmetry in testicular size was found, the left testis being larger than the right one.
