A banner produced by Hampshire Flag is being used to promote what is claimed to be the world's first carbon-neutral football match. The six by six metre banner was supplied at a reduced price for the match between teams from opposite ends of the country, Plymouth Argyle and Newcastle. Manufactured from 210gsm fire retardant polyester display material, the banner played a key role in raising awareness of the game's energy-saving bid. The project worked to ensure any damage to the environment as a result of staging the game was offset through renewable energy projects.
