The Navy has rebalanced its fleet with more emphasis toward the Asia-Pacific region, while maintaining significant forces in the Middle East, and has increased its presence in the Mediterranean, Baltic and Black seas and the North Atlantic Ocean. It has also increased Freedom-of-Navigation Operations in the South China Sea. The Navy continues to operate under the implemented Dynamic Force Employment construct, which ended regular, predictable carrier strike group deployments in lieu of more unpredictable ones.
