Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. has commercialized highly reliable fusion splice-on field-installable single-fiber optical connectors for efficient construction of optical communication networks. Demand is growing for such connectors, typically for use at data centers. Data centers use a multiplicity of MPO connectors, and are therefore expected to be a source of demand for MPO fusion splice-on field-installable connectors. To improve the market competitiveness of our fusion splice-on field-installable connectors, we have developed an MPO fusion splice-on field-installable connector, which strengthens the existing product lineup.
