Dr. Aktouf, Michel Oger, Philippe Duchene, and James Girand founded DeFacTo Technologies in August 2003 to develop "breakthrough tech- nology to dramatically enhance the design for test (DFT) process and increase the testability of ICs and SoCs." The development of DeFac-To's technology was begun at the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG-France) in 1997, under the leadership of Chouki Ak-touf, PhD. For the past two years, the company has been working with one of the largest semiconductor manufacturers in Europe to validate the benefits of its DFT tools.
