Icera Semiconductor (see 10/02, 3/03 issues) was formed in April 2002 to develop baseband processors and advanced wireless soft modem technology for next generation mobile handsets and wireless terminals. In February 2003, Icera closed $10M in first funding from Benchmark Capital and Atlas Venture. In July 2004, Icera raised $22.5M in second round funding led by Accel Partners and joined by Benchmark and Atlas. In April 2005, Icera completed a $10M extension to its Series B round from Accel, Atlas and Benchmark. The company has raised $42.5M to date and plans to raise a significant Series C funding round in the next 12 months. Icera is incorporated in Delaware, USA and has roughly 105 employees.
