摘要

This book is written by Professor Isaac Elishakoff, an eminent expert pioneering research on mechanical vibrations, structural reliability, and non-probabilistic design against uncertainty in the world. His distinguished coauthor, Professor Ohsaki, is well-known in the area of optimization design. As a collaborative effort between them, this book is the first work that constitutes important contributions to the development of structural designs under uncertainty by introducing the combination of the anti-optimization and optimization techniques. The structural design under uncertainty is an interdisciplinary topic pertaining to mechanical engineering, structural engineering, and applied mathematics.
