The American Shore & Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA) announces the Call for Abstracts for its 2011 national coastal conference, which is being held at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana, 19-21 October 2011. ASBPA is the nation's first organization to promote science-based policies for the protection of beaches and shores. The theme of the conference is "Expanding Coastal Horizons," recognizing that the coastal issues extend beyond the narrow strip where waves wash ashore, to inland marshes, bays, and estuaries to far offshore and consideration of offshore energy.
