Dispatching real-time critical information and imagery to tactical commanders and weapons operators is possible by leveraging commercial technclogies and products. But the U.S. Defense Department must go well beyond its traditional adversarial relationship with industry to exploit commercial capabilities fully, according to senior defense analysts. Providing rapid access to virtual worldwide information for those who are in the field, on the move, often under great stress and very busy is a high priority in today's growing digital battlefield.
