摘要

The Germantown Chapter has rebranded itself as AFCEA Energy, attracting members from across the United States and overseas in a virtual environment. While the chapter name does not officially change, its focus does.rnThe chapter originally was formed to serve community members associated with the U.S. Department of Energy, but chapter leaders soon realized only a small percentage of energy policies actually were executed in the Washington, D.C., area, explains Guy Mincey, chapter president. The department is one of the most federated organizations of its kind, Mincey says, and the chapter needed a format that would not isolate members based on location.
