Cet article examine l'influence du christianisme sur les projets nationaux dans la Jamaïque du vingt-et-unième siècle. J'y soutiens que le christianisme détermine encore les projets nationaux dans une certaine mesure, en particulier pour ce qui concerne le processus continu de classification par le genre et de sexualisation de la nation, selon des tendances qui soutiennent et normalisent l'hétéro-patriarcat. En effet, en matière par exemple de réformes constitutionnelles et juridiques, la portée de certaines interprétations des doctrines chrétiennes dépasse le cercle des pratiquants. Au contraire, elles peuvent également déterminer des lois séculières du fait des efforts de groupes chrétiens se situant à l'intérieur ou en marge de l'appareil juridique. Je me suis appuyée sur l'analyse textuelle de documents primaires, de même que sur des dialogues autour de ce sujet avec un certain nombre d'interlocuteurs du monde universitaire ou d'ailleurs.%This article examines the influence of Christianity in Jamaican nationalist projects in the twenty-first century. I argue that Christianity still, to some degree, shapes Jamaican nationalist projects, particularly with regard to the continuous gendering and sexualisation of the nation in ways that support and normalise hetero-patriarchy. Indeed, in projects such as constitutional and legal reform, certain interpretations of Christian doctrines are not only normative schemes for churchgoers alone. Rather, they may also poten-tially determine secular laws as a result of the workings of Christian groups who are inside and/or at the edge of the legal machinery. I relied on textual analysis of primary documents as well as dialogues about this topic with a number of people, positioned within and outside academia.
