Welcome to the May 2015 issue of SEN. This issue is a great one because of the columnists. In the first of a new column devoted to the history of SE, Betty Cheng writes a tribute to Robert France and elaborates on his contributions to model-driven engineering and his collaborations with the MDE community. Mark Doernhoefer surveys programming, a topic near and dear to my heart. He points to some of the most important and interesting languages, some places to learn to program (in case you are assigned to a new kind of project), and some places to store your code.
