摘要

The relation between adsorption and chemical transformation is studied when the reaction of complete combustion o carbon proceeds in a closed space. With such a formulation of the problem, the behavior of the system is described by five mutually related nonlinear differential equations of the first order. It is shown that depending on the ratio of the initial pressures of the O_2 and CO_2, the system in time may either arrive at an equilibrium state, or asymptotic attenuation of the intensity of the reaction will be observed in it in connection with the complete consumption of the solid carbon. Arriving at equilibrium is ensured within a broad range of the change in the ratio of the CO_2 pressure to that of the O_2. It is shown that after an equilibrium state is reached, the parameters of the system will satisfy the five requirements. On these grounds, we obtained the equilibrium contents of all the components in the system and determined the relevant adsorption isotherms.
