摘要

A hierarchical automated design flow for low-energy direct-mappednsignal processing integrated circuits is presented. A modular frameworknbased on a combined dataflow graph and floorplan description drivesnautomatic layout generation with commercial CAD tools. Automaticncharacterization of layout improves system-level estimates. Simplifiednphysical design methodologies for low supply voltages are discussed. Thenflow is demonstrated on a 300-k transistor test-chip, a time-divisionnmultiple-access baseband receiver, and a soft-output Viterbi decoder. Annexample of architectural comparison of energy efficiency is presented
