Acoustical instrumentation and associated software have advanced to a high level of sophistication enabling the practicing acoustician to obtain a large amount of data in a short period of time. To rephrase Kenneth Grahame from The Wind in the Willows, "There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about with acoustical instrumentation." This article will outline in a case study format this author's experience with two software-driven acoustical measurement platforms and their results. Conclusions from the measurements were used to identify and develop a corrective solution for the Kay Chapel at the American University in Washington, DC.
