There has been unbelievable progress in the area of machinery vibration analysis. This has resulted in improving our ability to diagnose machinery defects. Much of this progress is due to the use of portable data collectors. I must admit that when the first data collector came out, I would not have predicted how successful they would he in predictive maintenance programs.
