摘要

Uniaxial extensional flow occurs in transport and processing and is able to destroy desired rheological properties of emulsions by drop tearing. To predict drop deformation and breakup during transport an processing, theoretical approaches in uniaxial exten- sional flow and experiments in plane extensional flow allow to describe the deformation behavior of emulsion droplets. The experiments investigating drop deformation in plane extensional flow fields were restricted to single droplets in a surrounding fluid.
