摘要

Surface-tension driven flow in high temperature oxide melting is visualized by means of the already proved method of high temperature in situ optical observation. The stream- lines of the steady thermocapillary convection have been marked in the form of an axially symmetric pattern. The oscillatory motion of thermocapillary vortex is observed accompanied by synchronous temperature oscillations. Another type of oscillatory thermocapillary convection is also observed mainly related to the variation of the cur- vature of meniscus of the melt free surface. Finally the oscillatory frequency of the convection against the temperature of the melt is measured.
