General Atomics Aeronautical Systems of San Diego has demonstrated a two-channel version of its Lynx synthetic aperture radar capable of detecting slow-moving ground targets with greater precision than previous models, according to a Feb. 5 General Atomics press release. General Atomics, provider of the U.S. Defense Department's Predator unmanned aerial vehicles, developed the Lynx radar under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's Dual Beam Development Program. Detecting slow-moving targets is essential to cueing aerial vehicles' lectro-optical and infrared video sensors, General Atomics' Reconnaissance Systems Group President Linden P. Blue said in the release.
