The French space agency, CNES, has reached an agreement with Astrium Services on the sale of CNES's 41 percent ownership of Spot Image, a global provider of Earth observation data, government and industry officials said. The agreement will increase Astrium's stake in Toulouse, France-based Spot Image to 81 percent. It also seals the transformation of the company from a quasi-governmental entity with a commercial mission to a fully industrial company operating alongside Astrium's Infoterra division of Germany and Britain.
