Satellite-fleet operator Eutelsat said it has been able to maintain its transponder-lease prices at high levels despite the pressure from low-end "commodity" competitors that Chief Executive Giuliano Berretta said include Intelsat. Paris-based Eutelsat, the world's third-largest commercial fleet operator in terms of revenue, said that for the year ending June 30 it leased transponders at an average price of 2.1 million euros ($2.9 million) per year.
