摘要

Over 90 percent of the revenue stream that Intelsat thought it was acquiring in its billion-dollar purchase of Loral's Atlantic satellite fleet could disappear if Intelsat delays its planned stock-market offering beyond this summer, according to Intelsat documents and industry officials. But some Intelsat shareholders are seeking such a delay to avoid the large bookkeeping losses they would be forced to take following an initial public offering (IPO) given Intelsat's likely market valuation, officials said. Two industry officials said the developments appear to put Intelsat on a collision course with its largest shareholder, Lockheed Martin Corp. Officials said Lockheed Martin of Bethesda, Md., is behind a U.S. congressional proposal to give Intelsat another 12-18 months before forcing an IPO.
