E2v technologies will supply the image sensors for China's Large sky-Area Multi-Object Spectro-scopic Telescope, the company announced July 6. Headquartered in Chelmsford, England, e2v will supply 36 charge coupled devices for the telescope. Charge coupled devices are light-sensitive circuits that store and display data such as images. The first deliveries of the hardware are scheduled to begin in 2005, the company said. The Large sky-Area Multi-Object Spectroscopic Telescope is designed to study many objects at the same time over a wide area of sky.
