Harris Caprock Communications landed a contract with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of Seoul, South Korea, to provide a telecommunications solution including satellite connectivity for an oil-drilling platform to be located off the coast of Angola, Harris CapRock announced Dec. 23. The value of the multiyear contract supporting the Mafumeira Sul oil-drilling project is $8.4 million, said Alix Hornig, a spokeswoman for Fairfax, Va.-based Harris CapRock. "This solution includes extensive satellite components for the network, with wide-ranging systems integration requirements," she said in an emailed response to questions.
