Our recent meetings in Paris and Washington gave us significant opportunities to discuss how we will move forward together to achieve mutual goals for human spaceflight and scientific exploration and to build on the longstanding partnership between NASA and CNES. While discussing the future of space exploration, it was clear to us that our shared investments in space are helping to make a bright future possible for people across the planet. The international space station is one such investment for the United States and Europe. The contributions of France and other member states of the European Space Agency have been crucial to the ISS's remarkable achievements over the past 15 years.
