Amid declining budgets and increased threats, the U.S. Air Force has made clear it will not accept the status quo for its space programs. If there is one company that represents the status quo, it is Lockheed Martin Space Systems, prime contractor on some of the Air Force's biggest and most expensive satellite programs, including missions for missile warning, highly protected communications, narrowband communications and navigation.
