Com Dev subsidiary exactEarth Ltd. of Cambridge, Ontario, said its newest maritime surveillance satellite has completed testing and entered into commercial service Nov. 26. The exactView 1 (EV-1) satellite, launched in July into an 810-kilometer polar orbit aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket, is equipped with an automatic identification system (AIS) that relays information on ships at sea to coastal authorities.
