The runway at Spaceport America in New Mexico is heading toward completion with the multilayered landing strip's first batch of concrete poured Feb. 11.rnThe 3,000-meter long runway, measuring some 60 meters wide, is made up of 60 centimeters of prepared subgrade followed by 10 centimeters of asphalt and topped with a 36-centimeter finish layer of concrete, according to a Feb. 15 newsrnrelease from Spaceport America and the New Mexico Spaceport Authority.
